Dil Raju’s team is working hard on Brindavanam. Shooting is currently taking place at Hyderabad outskirts. A special set is erected for the film shooting. Brindavanam team is planning to go to Karnataka, later to Kerala to complete the film.

Telugu Cinema News : NTR’s Shakti to start in a big way

The most energetic hero of the Tollywood NTR and the latest sensation of the industry Ileana will romance at Rajasthan for their film ‘Shakti’ which is starting its shooting from tomorrow. Everything in this film is planned in a huge scale, because the producer Aswini Dutt has told his director Mehar Ramesh that there would be no financial restrictions or time frame for making this film. Hence, everything is planned in a big way. First of all, the director mobilised more than 300 extra artists in addition to his unit members. Mehar Ramesh is planning to shoot a song on the lead pair at Jaipur on 6th of February and continue the shooting for the next fifteen days. All the unit members have reached the location one day prior to the shooting.

Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is presently touring all the prominent places of worship in the state after the success of his Telugu film Simha, offered prayers at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala on Thursday. He reached Tirumala late on Wednesday night.

After an overnight stay at the Padmavathi Guest House, Balakrishna offered prayers at the temple during the VIP break in the morning and later proceeded to Srikalahasti to worship Lord Shiva and goddess Gnanaprasunambika.

To all those who are wondering as to how ‘Simha’ is being projected as a blockbuster, perhaps these statistics will give some relief. A reliable source has revealed about the actual figures of collection for the film and there seems to be a wide gap between the actual and the declared numbers.

As per the report, from 30th onwards till 10 days, everything was ok but subsequently it dropped. As per the highly reliable inside source, the genuine 1stweek collection is Rs 14.50 crores whereas it has been projected as Rs 26.45 crores.

A similar situation has happened during the second week as well. While the real collection is Rs 7 crores, they have given the figures as Rs 12.45 Cr and projected the 2 week collection as Rs38.90 crores. So in reality, the film has collected nearly Rs 22 crores.

Now, the theatres are going empty so it remains to be seen how much collections the 3rd week will actually have and how much it will be projected as.

The shooting of the film “Shakti” is in progress at locations in and around Jaipur with a unit of 300 members. This schedule will go on for 15 days.This big budget film is being produced by C Aswini Dutt under his banner Vyjayanthi Movies and directed by Meher Ramesh.
“Shakti” has NTR Jr and Ileana in the lead roles. Yandamoori Veerendranath, JK Bharavi, THota Prasad and DS Kannan contributed to the story while the dialogues have been written by Satyanand. The music has been composed by Mani Sa

Simha is now trying to beat Magadheera in at least one aspect, given the fact that the movie has come out well many expect that the first week collections of Simha could be better than Magadheera. Samantha, who is making her screen debut with Naga Chaitanya's second movie Yemaya Chesave (Telugu version of Kollywood's master filmmaker Gautham Menon's Tamil movie Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya) directed by Gautham Menon, will be the second heroine in Jr. NTR-Trisha-Kajal Aggarwal's Telugu film Brindavanam, directed by Padipally Vamsi of Munna fame.
The film, launched two months ago, is produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations with the tagline "Govindudu Andari Vaadele". The unit has recently wrapped up a schedule at Shabdalaya Studios in Hyderabad and is all set to begin the next schedule in Pollachi from February 19. Music is by Thomas and camera is by Chota K. Naidu. Sireesh and Lakshman are the co-producers.

It seems NTR is sentimental about Independence Day. His Yamadonga, released on the same day three years ago, was a big hit. It also brought him back on to the hit track after a long gap. Knowing NTR’s sentiment, producer Dil Raju wants to release his film with NTR, Brindavanam on the same day this year, After present schedule which is going on near Hyderabad.

Shooting of this film will take place in Karnataka and Kerala after the present schedule.

With the news doing rounds that NTR will be getting married, Brindavanam has raised interest among his fans and the industry circles as well. And also for first time NTR will be appearing in a film as a lover boy, after he managed to drastically reduce his weight.

Brindavanam is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Munna fame. Kajal Agarwal and Samantha are his co stars in the film.

Yuvaratna is back and this time he has come up with a rather high voltage treat. How strong he has been and how the audience has received him this time, let us see.

Story:
Sriman Narayana (NBK) is a lecturer at a college and he is known for his strict way, he doesn’t stand injustice and bashes the bulbs out of anyone. In this process, he meets Janaki (Sneha) and she falls for him in due course. But Janaki has got a flashback which has to do with Sriman Narayana as well. What is that flashback? Who is Sriman Narayana? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Balakrishna has come back to his original form with his punch dialogues, typical body language and mass appeal. However, age is showing on him and voice has stuttered a bit, overall he carried his bit well with his blissful smile.

Sneha Ullal is sweet but her blank expressions still continue. She must learn to open her mouth and speak while saying the dialogues. Looks wise she rocks.

Nayantara looks elegant and is all decked up like a bride at all times. Her role was brief but she did justice to it.

Namitha covers half of the screen and seems to be building up pounds with each passing film. It is about time she does something about her flab.

K R Vijaya has come back after a hiatus of sorts but she still has that composure and grace, she was the apt choice for her role.

Sai Kumar (Malayalam) was okay, Aditya Menon was apt, he has strong screen presence, Brahmi was wasted, Ali was not used, Krishna Bhagawan was barely there, Venu brought few forced smiles, Rehman was standard, LB was regular, Kota was nice, Jeevi, Kinnera, Shravan, Anand Bharathi, Sana and others did their bit to add value.

Analysis:
After a long gap, it’s a relief for Balakrishna’s fans. The movie scores good this time. But there is no freshness in story line or narration part. It’s the same old cutting heads with axe and there is some change in the design of weapon. The climax sequence is lifted from Magadheera with the fight scene in the same old place where the protagonist’s father fights and dies.

The dialogues of Balayya brought good response in theatres:

Nenu maatladetappudu nee chevule pani cheyyali. Adi tappa vere edainaa pani cheste neeku next birth day undadhu.

Charitra srushtinchalanna, tiraga raayalanna maa vamsame cheyyaali

Although they aren’t great dialogues to underline, the fans those awaited an action packed movie from many years are taking them as holy sentences.

In a fight scene Balayya’s punch of the fist lands on the face of a patient who lies in coma for 28 years. The patient gets up instantly. Doctors get stunned and exclaim, “Wow! What a wonder. Science andani power itani punch lo undi”. Thank god! The director limited the exaggeration with one scene. Otherwise, it would have become another omnibus of exaggerations.

Songs scored good marks on a whole.

‘Simha Simha…’ was shot on Namita and Balakrishna and it’s visually just ok.
‘Orabba..’ is the number shot in a pub with Balayya, Namitha and Sneha Ullal. When Sneha Ullal was seen in a frame with Namitha, she looked like a scooty beside lorry.
‘Bangaru Konda..’ has captivated with rich costumes on Nayantara and Balayya.
‘Kanulara..’ is on Nayan, Balayya and family members in temple background which is good to watch
‘Janaki Janaki..’ is with Balayya and Sneha Ullal and that’s good to watch.
The song ‘Achcha hai acha hai…’ is missing totally.

First half is average with no exciting moments and the second half is packed with high dose action-, although predictable. On a whole, it’s a treat for fans, headache for family audiences and a disappointment for those who wish to watch something new and fresh.

Jr NTR’s upcoming film Brindavanam movie shooting was progressing in Kerala. There they are canning the some of the scenes on Jr NTR and Samantha, but due to the Samantha’s illness the shooting was cancelled and the unit back to Hyderabad to shoot other scenes.

As per the sources Samantha fallen sick, and it diagnosed as Chicken pox .Because of her health Jr NTR’s Brindavanam may delay its release. Samantha combination scenes will be done only after her complete recovery from illness.

While most star sons and daughters you come across are busy getting away from the shadows of their parents and leave no stone unturned to refrain from being typecast mega star NTR Jr, the grand son of NTR, is the opposite .

Indeed, he candidly confesses that being born in a star family helped him kick start his career enormously. “It (being a megastar’s grandson) helped me largely in the first movie itself because people believe that you have the same aura and capabilities as your grandfather. But after that an actor can only bank upon his acting skills. I love being called NTR’s grandson. I never moved away from his shadow may be because I didn’t try enough or may be because I like it this way,” says NTR Jr, who is currently shooting in Jaipur for his upcoming mega-budget film Sakthi.

Needless to say, making the most of the opportunity, NTR explored Rajasthan as much as “his hectic schedule allowed” him. “I went to Ajmer just after coming to Jaipur as my mom wanted me to pay obeisance at the dargah. I have also been to Pushkar and will now get to see Jodhpur when we go there for the shoot. This place has loads of beauty and when you shoot here, it gives you a royal feel. In fact when audience knows that the film is being shot in Rajasthan, they also have expectations of relishing the majestic locales on screen.”

And contrary to his perception - that he is not well-known in North India - the star finds his fan following where ever he goes. “I think some of my films like Kantri have been dubbed in Hindi because I had thought who would know me here? But at Pushkar people recognised me and were shouting my film’s name. Isn’t that fabulous? South comprises of a mixed community but in North there are fewer South Indians and there’s a vast difference between both. I was like wow people do recognise you here?”

Down south the star is treated as a demigod with his fans bathing the actor’s cutout with milk before his film’s release, will he ever take a plunge in Bollywood? “Never,” pat comes the reply and he adds, “I am happy being king down south. It’s my world and I am destined to be here (Telugu film industry) I don’t even want to try my luck in Tamil films, but I might think of Bollywood at some later stage.”

Indeed NTR doesn’t even want to change his image of a commercial hero and is not upbeat about being too experimental. “I am a commercial hero and I will never leave that genre. And having an image of a mass hero I will spoil the whole script in the wake of being too experimental. Then there are boundaries around a mass stirrer like me - audience buy the tickets of NTR Junior’s film with a larger-than-life image of his in their mind, who would give them an action-packed performance. So, I can’t flout the boundaries and disappoint them.” Point taken!

But would he ever take to direction or writing? “I believe in doing what I am best at. I don’t want to waste my energy in other things instead I would put all that in reaching the next level in a craft that I love the most.” As he once campaigned for TDP, do we see him donning the hat of a politician in the near future? “It is a different chapter of my life and I am not ready to open it now. Movies are my life and politics is a responsibility. I think I am too young for that.” However, it is surely the right age to tie the knot, so why the delay? But the shy actor makes a clean sweep from giving the reply, as he says, “I am a very shy person, who is just close to himself. So I would refrain from talking about my personal life.”
